The Best Non-Toxic Skincare for Travel

Because healthy skin shouldn’t take a vacation—even when you do!

Traveling with four kids (including a 6-month-old!) means I’ve become super intentional about what goes into our bags—especially when it comes to skincare. With different climates, water sources, and hotel soaps that literally destroy my hands, I’ve narrowed down my skincare must-haves to a few essentials that I refuse to travel without.

These are my ride or dies—the products that not only keep my skin (and baby’s skin) happy and healthy, but also align with my non-toxic lifestyle.

Here’s my top 4 list—with all the juicy details on why they’ve earned a permanent spot in my travel bag:

1. Sun & Moo Tallow

Faves: The Soother (nighttime) + The Beautiful One (morning)

This stuff is my holy grail. I don’t go a single trip—or day—without it. The Soother is my go-to at night after a long day of sun, travel, or dry airplane air. It’s calming, rich, and feels like a nourishing hug for my skin before bed.

In the morning, I use The Beautiful One—and let me just say, it lives up to its name. It melts into my skin and leaves the most beautiful, natural glow. I love using it before applying makeup. It preps my skin without that greasy feeling and helps my makeup go on so much smoother. Plus, it smells amazing.

2. Primally Pure Deodorant & Baby Balm

This duo is a non-negotiable for our family—especially when traveling with a 6-month-old. The deodorant is my favorite I’ve found that’s truly non-toxic and actually works (even in hot climates like Thailand). I love how clean the ingredients are, and it never irritates my skin like other natural deodorants tend to.

The Baby Balm is magic. From diaper rashes to dry cheeks to mystery baby bumps—I use it for everything. It’s one of those products that gives me peace of mind knowing I’m not putting any questionable ingredients on my baby’s skin.

3. Dime Tinted Sunscreen + Clean Fragrance

I love a good multi-use product when I’m traveling, and Dime’s tinted sunscreen is exactly that. It evens out my skin tone while protecting me from sun damage (which is key when we’re spending lots of time outside). It doesn’t clog my pores or feel heavy—just light, breathable, and glowy.

And their fragrances? So clean, so fresh, and totally free from endocrine disruptors. I don’t wear perfume often, but when I do, I want it to be something that won’t mess with my hormones. Dime checks all the boxes. My favorite scent is 7 Summers.

4. Tallow Soap

Hotel soaps are the actual worst for my hands. I don’t know what’s in them, but after a few uses, my hands feel like sandpaper. I bring my own bar of tallow soap everywhere we go. It’s super gentle, ultra moisturizing, and doesn’t strip my skin like most commercial soaps do.

I use it for hand-washing, as a body wash, and even as a face wash. One bar does it all. It saves space in my toiletry bag and keeps my skin soft no matter where we’re staying.

Right now I’m using a some that is made locally in West Asia, but I’ve also used and love Sun & Moo’s tallow soap.

Final Thoughts

I used to overpack my skincare bag with “just in case” products. Now, I’ve narrowed it down to these four, and I honestly don’t need anything else. They’re clean, effective, and keep my skin (and my kids’ skin!) feeling good on the go.
